Artist statement
Architect Series is a set of five kiln-cast and coldworked lead crystal objects. As hand-made ‘relics’ they are neither scientifically classifiable, functional nor artefacts. They reside in an unidentifiable space between the natural and manmade. They evoke wasp nests and hives, the organic growth of mould, lichen and fungus, or the grand scale of geological features, such as basalt or igneous rock.
